- Nov: Thanksgiving
- Dec: ICIS in St. Louis, end of first semester. One student hated me. The rest kinda liked me.
- Jan: HICSS in Kauai! With the hubs and the bestie! (omg I'm talking like a Valley girl.) Yay! Semester starts. Work out! 6 whole weeks! In a row! Lose 10 pounds.
- Feb: Submit two papers. (One rejected, one still waiting...) Have oral surgery. Get sick. Stop working out.
- Mar: Still sick. Gain 7 pounds. Go to Tucson for Spring Break. Keynote speaker at a Women in Tech event in Silicon Valley. News hits the SF Chronicle: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2011/03/25/prweb8236950.DTL
- Apr: Starting to not be sick. Semester - and first year at Pepperdine - ends. I am in once piece. Start working on other research that I had planned on finishing by now. Rework my website: nicolefv.com. (Suggestions/ proof reading always welcome.)
- May: Pass my first year review. Chair (lovingly) tells me I need a hobby. (Does watching Bravo reality shows count?) Work on three papers instead. (Summer goal: five papers submitted. Let's call it a stretch goal.) Feel research schizophrenic. Join Twitter (kind of. This could end badly. @nicolefv) Go to Europe! (later today - for Pepperdine rah-rah-ing.) First time overseas! (this could end badly. Or with lots of chocolate - we'll be in Switzerland and Germany.)

Bad blogger!
Okay, okay. I know I have so much catching up to do. I've been busy. And when I haven't been busy, I haven't wanted to write. We'll see if I can do any catching up this summer. By way of very quick recap:
